For Neverland!

Another card worth looking into is Silverblade Paladin also looking at Champion of the Parish and just found Lingering Souls, which I like for the fact that the flashback is less cost than the original casting cost. That is pretty nifty.

FNM 4/6

Okay, so pulled in at 7:02 to Mayhem, not the best of nights to play with the sick family. But I went at it anyways with my Werewolves again. Didn't make it in time for paid, so went with the free bracket.

1st Match
Went up against a Dimir mill deck. She played it well, playing lots of mill and pulling out the big guns with Consuming Abberation, and being annoying with a Mortus Strider/Trepanation Blade combo over and over. I'm really glad I decided to mainboard the one manna cost bloodrush Adder with deathtouch. But went 2-1 against her. And then she surprised me by asking for my assistance in sideboarding for her deck. She thought I was super good and had been playing for a long time. Kinda cool.

2nd match
Played a neat guy who was running an Acidic Slime flicker with land destruction, ended up going 2-1 against him as well. I pulled a Searing Spear and he ate my last Mountain, so I couldn't use it, next turn, drew a Rootbound Crag, dropped the spear and Moonmist gave me the win with him dropping 6 from the trample on a transformed Instigator Gang. Boss.

3rd Match
Went 1-2 against a Gruul aggro deck, he was dropping Burning Trees like they were going out of style and I just couldn't keep up. Used a bunch of batallion that I just wasn't responding to fast enough. He said I was his only challenge of the night though. So that was cool.

So I didn't get to play round 4, but I wouldn't have gotten top 2 in free with a loss anyways. So I dropped as I had to pick up a prescription by 10pm. Only top 2 qualify for a pack and a promo in the free bracket. So just got some points out of the night really.

In hindsight now, Predator's Rapport seems like it might be a good sideboard for me to stick in there. Could come in handy when the Werewolves transform and it's a cheap life gain that could help me stick around for longer. And in some of these games, it comes down to 3 or 4 life, and an extra 8 or 9 could make the difference between a win and a loss.

But that was my night. See ya in a couple weeks when I can compete again!
